What is GYROTONIC®?
Gyrotonic training is a cutting-edge exercise system that first became popular among dancers in New York City and is now practiced by thousands worldwide. Gyrotonic movements are based on chi gung and yoga, and can be served by specially designed equipment that creates pleasurable resistance to circular movement patterns. The result is a movement experience that stimulates the natural healing processes of the body promoting health and vitality while developing coordination, strength and flexibility.

Gyrotonic training is beneficial to a wide range of people, from those who are elderly to physically fit athletes.

Gyrotonic Expansion System is the full name used to describe key principles, exercises on and off the equipment and all equipment created and developed by Romanian-born dancer, gymnast and yogi, Juliu Horvath.

Private Sessions

Michelle Marroquin is available to teach private sessions in Yoga, Gyrokinesis and Gyrotonic technique. Yoga and Gyrokinesis classes do not require any special equipment, while Gyrotonic sessions use state-of-the-art machines to help elongate and balance the body. A brief assessment of your medical history and current interests will allow us to determine which program is right for you.

Your first session will most likely include gentle movements for the spine, invigorating work for the whole body, and appropriate strength training for the upper body, back and abdominal muscles. Hands on fascilitation and feedback will help you perform the movements correctly and help you be more aware of your own body.

After a single session you will have an overall sense of wellbeing, having stimulated all essential areas of your body. After a few weeks of training you will feel a pronounced difference in your posture, an ease in everyday movements, more tone and flexibility, and an increase in your energy level.
